Pontoon Schedule
RCYC’s pontoon boats, Zephyr & Optimist join our transportation fleet to provide Members, guests, and staff with another convenient connection between the mainland and the Island.
Our designated dock is located on the southeast end of Yonge St. Quay, adjacent to the Kiss ‘n’ Sail dock. Signage is posted on the walkway, directing Members, guests, and staff, to the appropriate ramp.

To support increased demand on Race Nights (Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays), we have enhanced Pontoon service from the designated dock at southeast end of Yonge St. Quay.
Increased Frequency:
Weather conditions permitting, additional runs will be offered on a non-stop basis (approximately every 15 minutes) during peak periods:
- 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm (from Yonge St.)
- 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm (from RCYC)
Pontoon Guidelines & Policy
- Upon boarding, in both directions, Members are to present their Membership Card to the driver and tap to validate.
- A $15.00 launch fee applies to all guests.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Capacity & Safety
- Zephyr, Optimist pontoons operate as commercial passenger vessels within overlapping federal, provincial, and municipal regulatory frameworks.
- The pontoon boat is limited to a maximum of 12 passengers.
- Electric kick scooters, motorcycles, and certain electric bicycles (including those over 40 kg) are not permitted on ferries to Toronto Island Park or on the Island itself.
Priority of Service
- The shuttle serves the collective transportation needs of the Membership.
- No single Member or guest group may take priority over others.
- During busy periods, the Operator and dock staff will manage boarding to ensure safe, fair, and orderly access for all.
Group Size Guidelines
- The pontoon service cannot be reserved, held, or dedicated for individual Member use.
- The maximum party size accommodated per crossing is six (6) persons, subject to lineup, demand, and operating conditions.
- Members planning to travel with larger groups should:
- Allow additional transfer time,
- Use the Club’s launch service from City Station, or
- Arrange alternative transportation, as appropriate.
Private & Corporate Events
- The shuttle service is not available for transportation related to private events, corporate functions, or organized group activities.
- Private event transportation must be arranged separately, in advance, with the Events Team through City Station.
Operational Authority
- For safety and service management, the Operator and dock staff have final authority over passenger numbers, boarding order, and trip scheduling at all times. Members are expected to comply in line with the Club’s Code of Conduct (link to Code).
- Passengers are to abide by embarking and disembarking rules as laid out by the Operator.
